How to Unlock AI Within Your Business
Think Beyond the Hype
It’s no secret—everyone’s talking about AI.
But here’s the sad reality: while many businesses are eager to jump on the AI bandwagon, only a few are truly harnessing its power effectively.
Earlier this year I had the opportunity to speak at Florida Atlantic University about AI, and it sparked an important question - How can businesses genuinely evaluate whether AI is making a difference?

Here’s a straightforward four-step strategy to ensure your business isn’t just chasing the AI wave, but actually benefiting from it:
Step 1: Define Your Target Outcome
Start by asking yourself, "What does success look like for my business with AI?"
It’s crucial to have a clear, detailed vision of what you want to achieve.
Whether it’s improving customer service, boosting sales, or optimizing operations, success starts with your definition, not the AI’s.
Step 2: Map Out the Process
Once you’ve defined your goal, break it down into actionable steps.
This is where your expertise comes into play—creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that the AI can follow. Think of it as building a roadmap that leads straight to your desired outcome.
Step 3: Craft Effective Prompts
The quality of AI’s output depends heavily on the quality of your input.
This is where prompt engineering comes into the picture. Be precise, clear, and intentional with your prompts. The better your instructions, the better the results.
Step 4: Review and Refine
AI is powerful, but it’s not infallible.
Regularly review the output and make necessary adjustments. This is an ongoing process—refinement is key to making sure AI continues to serve your business effectively.
Remember, AI is a tool designed to enhance your capabilities, not replace them. It’s only as powerful as the person guiding it.
