Pay More Attention to Your Buyer Intent Signals
This is ๐จ๐ง๐ ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ข๐ฆ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฌ to understand in terms of ๐จ๐ง๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฏ๐๐ง๐ฎ๐ and success.
Yet, most of us never focus on it...
Do you?
Iโm talking about "Buyer Intent Signals."
In essence, these are actions your buyers take, which display some level of interest and itโs up to you to translate that insight into your marketing actions.
Quick story...I recently sat with a good business friend of mine. Simply a great guy.
We had been talking about LinkedIn for a number of years, but he never really received a benefit from it.
So, we ran some searches together and he focused on company names, titles, etc.
And then he asked me what the best way was to reach them on LinkedIn.
๐ There are many ways, but the way that made the most sense was to look for some level of โbuyer intentโ from them, for using LinkedIn....and in this context, this meant to see if they had any recent activity on the platform.
Interestingly, most of those he was looking at had ๐ง๐จ๐ง๐. And this lead to a very important outcome...
๐ Think about thisโฆ does it make sense to spend time pursuing relationship building with a specific group of people, using a platform, when that group doesnโt regularly use it?
In effect, youโre trying to relationship build with a block of people that don't exist on that platform.
But... how many of us consider buyer intent signals before we pursue a tactical path?
How many of us think about using buyer signals to guide us in our audience growth and engagement?
Unfortunately when we don't, we typically lack the optimized results weโre seeking .
This is where a lot of frustration originates in online marketing.
The marketer thinks theyโre doing โstuffโ but they donโt bother to focus on the appropriate buyer intent signals to see if their action fits the situation.
The hard reality is many marketers struggle to achieve this.
The โsecretโ is ensuring that you understand your data (buyer intent signals) and use that to optimize each step of your content marketing process.
So, before you dive into your next marketing campaign, ask yourselfโare you truly listening to your buyers, or just guessing? The difference could be the key to unlocking your success.
